History

A J Atkins was formed in the year 2000 by Adam Atkins as a sole trader with 1 JCB 3cx machine. After his 1st year trading he progressed to buy 2 further digges a JCB 4cx & a mini digger Jcb1ton and to employ his first operator, the company made steady progress and in 2004 became A J Atkins Excavation Contracters Ltd with a fleet of 5 machines and numerous agricultural equipment. In 2005 the company progressed further buy purchasing an 8wheeler Hooklift wagon and numerous Roll on off container skips, along with a Doppsdat Trommel for the screening & recycling of soil and stone. Today the company employs 4 members of staff and has recently aquired an 18ton Daf tipper with a 15ton crane to further its expansion into the bagged aggregates product area, A J Atkins can provide a wide and varied service to both the commercial/private sectors along with various agricultural work to include Tractor & trailer hire and vaccum tankers.
